The Missouri Safety Center employs three law enforcement liaisons (LEL) to cover the three regions of the state, Eastern, Western, and Southwestern regions. With guidance from the Highway Safety and Traffic Division of MoDOT, the LELs promote and encourage local law enforcement agencies to participate in state and national traffic safety programs, initiatives and campaigns. These campaigns are primarily related to occupant protection countermeasures, speed enforcement and impaired driving countermeasures. The LELs attend a variety of meetings, training and conferences to include: regional coalition and sub-committee meetings, the LETSAC Conference, and the Missouri Highway Safety and Traffic conference.
