Practical application and skill development are key to all Missouri Safety Center activities.

Certification & Licensing

We provide certification and licensing in public safety, law enforcement, through other state agency projects, and for other industries.

Contemporary Issues

Staff attend and initiate conference and training activities related to current events to remain relevant in their fields.

Missouri Safety Center
The Missouri Safety Center is an organization dedicated to safety education and training in the fields of highway safety and law enforcement.  We draw together a variety of resources in a common effort that serve federal, state and local agencies, business, industry, safety professionals, university personnel and the public-at-large. We utilize a staff of specialists and services to provide leadership and a unified program to reduce roadway fatalities and train public safety professionals.

Role & Purpose

Instruction

Missouri Peace Officer & Standards Training (POST) Licensed Provider of Continuing Education for Law Enforcement. Public training and traffic safety to include driver’s education, defensive driving, motorcycle safety, instructor development, and more.

Research

Data collection, analysis, and reporting on occupant protection surveys for state and federal reporting.

Public Service

Annual host of the Missouri High School High Mileage Challenge; Support for Whiteman Air Force Base Safety Days; Board participation for the Law Enforcement Traffic Safety Advisory Council (LETSAC) and Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety subcommittees.

Staff from the Missouri Safety Center will build new and  maintain current relationships with federal, state, and local agencies, safety advocacy groups, civic organizations, business, industry, and other organizations to develop more responsive safety training and education.
