Our Grants

Our mission is to reduce driving fatalities on Missouri roadways. Our grants through the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) Highway Safety & Traffic Division help us focus on measures to reduce roadway fatalities to zero. The Missouri Safety Center is a partner in the development of the Missouri Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP). Our key focus areas coincide with the SHSP focus areas.

Occupant Protection

“Seat belts are the most impactful and efficient way to save lives in the event of a crash.”

Distracted Driving

“Distracted driving is the most commonly observed risky behavior on Missouri roadways.”

Speed and Aggressive Driving

“We hurry to get everyone to their destinations on time without proper respect for other drivers and our own safety.

Impaired Driving

“It is important for Missouri to clearly
communicate that it’s never okay to drive impaired, regardless of the substance.
